Scotmas Group are seeking a Business Development Manager.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for leading the sales effort for the Scotmas Compliant Water markets in the UK, namely Healthcare, Building Services, Food & Beverage and Industrial markets.
Working closely with the Commercial Director, Account Manager and supported by Sales Administration and Marketing teams they will have responsibility for new sales for these customers, covering the whole of Scotland down to the north midlands area.

Responsibilities
- Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks
- First line response to all new enquiries, managing the lead to completion
- Generation of all proposal documents and sales presentations at each stage of the sale process
- Work closely with the Marketing team on lead generation, brand campaigns and feedback for product development
- Attendance at trade shows as required
- Reporting to the Commercial Director, understanding of sales metrics of accounts, orders, issues and performance against targets and company objectives
- Working closely with Customer Service, Production and Finance teams to ensure the smooth running of sales opportunities and advance planning for new sales

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Sales role in a comparable industry
- Excellent knowledge of the Water Treatment industry
- An aptitude and strong interest in Engineering, with the ability to communicate with both sales and engineer stakeholders
- Evidence of formal sales training or experience
- A strong interest in science-based innovation to drive world beating products
- Comfortable working with figures / spreadsheets and a desire to work to sales targets
- Self-motivated with strong ethical and working principles
- High standards giving excellent customer service
- Excellent attention to detail, with verbal and written communication skills
- Confident giving client presentations
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills with customers
- Conscientious & self-motivated
- Pro-active, “can-do” attitude
- Degree level education or comparable industry experience
