Harnessing Renewable Energy

Scotmas has been working tirelessly towards reducing our carbon footprint for several years. Recently, we achieved a significant milestone towards a more sustainable future.

We installed 85 kWP solar panels on the roof of our head office in Kelso, Scottish Borders, in 2021. The primary goal of this project was to generate enough renewable energy to cover the power usage of our electric service vehicles. By harnessing the sun’s power, Scotmas hopes to reduce our reliance on non-renewable energy sources and move towards a more sustainable future.

The company has achieved a significant milestone this November as, for the first time, we are driving more miles powered by renewable electricity than diesel.

All of our fleet cars are fully electric, and the company operates one van. Based on this, the company plans to continue transitioning to electric solutions.
